Having lived for thousands of years in a world where magic is a fact of life (in some places more than others), it's only natural that Paarthurnax has a very good grasp on magic outside of his Thu'um. He has also looked into the books explaining this via them being passed to him through the Greybeards, and has a very good grasp on how the schools of magic function. (Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Restoration) If given the opportunity to study a kind of magic not native to his world, he will eagerly take the chance to learn about it and thus understand its basics in relatively quick order. The longer he can study, the more he will grasp its manner of function even if he cannot use it himself.
- Meditation (Master)
It's the very nature of dragons to seek to dominate and destroy. The only reason Paarthurnax has become how he is can be explained by all the years of meditation he has done. By dedicating himself to the Way of Voice and isolating himself, the dragon has gained control of himself. Thanks to all those years of dedication, he's quite the master on getting in touch with himself and being calm.
- Teacher (Master)
For a very long time, Paarthurnax has been in charge as a Grandmaster of the Greybeards. He's taught those trusted enough how to utilize their Thu'um and ways to understand it. so many years, and he's gotten a handle on this teaching thing. He's good at understanding that others sometimes need different ways to learn, and adjusts himself accordingly.
The Thu'um:
An ancient kind of magic used mostly by the dov, it relies on taking the words of their language into themselves so that they understand it at its true core and then making the meaning of those words happen. As one of the oldest dragons in Skyrim, Paarthrunax is skilled in many of these and is capable of using them.
